As we posted last week, the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers club held their annual Double Trouble 5K/10K yesterday, October 9. The weather cooperated beautifully and there was a great turnout of runners both young and old. The unique thing about this race was the start time, which was staggered (8 a.m. for the 5K, 8:50 for the 10K) so that runners could compete in both races. Two for almost the price of one (entry fee was just $5 more to do both races). Here are a few pics from just before the start and also the finish line:
Warm-up and stretch - almost gun time:
Bring it on home!
This race was also unique in that each participant was given a bag with the race logo rather than the more traditional T-shirt. This high quality mesh bag will come in very handy at future race events for the participants.
No race would be complete without post-run water and food and Double Trouble had plenty of both. Bottled water, bread, bananas, oranges, and cookies were provided to all participants.
All in all a very successful race, and we look forward to next year!
