ICE! at Gaylord Texan

The ICE! exhibit is coming to Grapevine at the Gaylord Texan, in what some consider the kickoff of the winter holiday season.  This is an amazing set of ice sculptures made of two million pounds of ice and kept on display throughout the season.

This year’s display features A Charlie Brown Christmas, surely on everyone’s list of favorite feel-good holiday things.  The exhibit will be open the following hours:  10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  Ticket prices range from $10 to $23 depending on age and which day you go; details can be found here.

Needless to say, the exhibit is kept at a very low temperature (9 degrees F) so don’t forget to dress appropriately including long pants and closed-toe shoes.

We went to this last year and it was a blast and so amazing to see. A little pricey, yes, but that’s typical of events at the Texan. It’s worth while for a holiday splurge, I think.
