Now this is an event I can get on board with! I think the festival’s website itself summarizes the events better than I ever could:
On March 11-12, 2011 chocolate lovers will gather in Grapevine, Texas to celebrate the
love of chocolate, wine and local art while raising funds for the programs of Travelers Aid
Chocolate, wine and local art – what’s not to love?
On Friday, March 11, you can experience “An Evening of Chocolate and Wine” at La Buena Vida Vineyards. Tickets may be purchased online. This sounds like a terrific event – enjoy a beautiful vineyard setting while sampling wine and chocolate. There will also be hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a silent auction.
Saturday, March 12 is the Day of Chocolate and Art. This event is held in the Palace Arts Center on Main Street and tickets are available online or at the door for each one-hour session.
As mentioned, the event benefits Travelers Aid Dallas/Fort Worth, which helps individuals and families who are facing a travel-related crisis. The organization was initially started to help stranded travelers at the airport and provide them information, but has now expanded to include translation services for international travelers, military traveler support, and juvenile runaway assistance as well as many other services.
