Los Cabos, at 451 E. Northwest Highway in Grapevine (former site of Guadalupe’s), was featured in our post of the 5 best Tex-Mex restaurants in Grapevine, and we are happy to now do a more thorough review of a recent visit there. This place is a little off the radar for many people, which in my book is frequently a sign of a gem. Grapevine has many such tucked-away places that we have grown to love.
Los Cabos has more seafood options than many Tex-Mex places which is a nice change to have. On my most recent visit, I did not opt for one of these, though, and instead had the Pechuga a la Parrilla, which is a grilled chicken breast topped with sauteed vegetables and white cheese. It’s served with the standard rice and beans, and also a spoonful of guacamole. A reasonably healthy option and they would likely leave off the cheese if you asked, and then it would be healthier still. It’s a good sized portion and I saved half for lunch the next day.
The service here is very friendly although a little on the slow side, but I have never eaten here when I’ve been in a hurry, so it hasn’t been an issue. They are happy to accomodate large groups, split checks, and all the other things that make a restaurant a good choice for a gathering of friends. They have a patio and it is just now getting to be the time of year when a patio is a great choice for lunch or dinner out.
Interestingly, Los Cabos does not have a website that I could locate, but they do have a Facebook page. That’s something you don’t often see. They would do well to spring for at least a basic website but in the meantime the Facebook page does have their address, hours, and a menu, which is the information most people are looking for when they seek out a restaurant website.
