It’s time again for the annual Blessing of the Vines. When this happens, you know it’s springtime! It’s so great to see the vines growing and everything blooming anew for the growing season. This is a really fun and festive occasion and we wanted to be sure and share all the details here.
The Blessing of the Vines takes place at Delaney Vineyards (2000 Champagne Boulevard) on April 9 from 11 a.m. to noon. Admission is free and includes new release wine tasting and entertainment. This event is hosted by the Grapevine Convention & Visitors’ Bureau.
The New Vintage Wine Trail picks up right where the blessing of the vines leaves off, starting at 11 a.m. on April 9. From that time until 5:00 p.m., Grapevine’s wineries will host tastings and tours, including live entertainment and food. The cost is $49 per person and includes all the above (for eight wineries), a souvenir glass, and shuttle service among the wineries.
If you’d like to get out of town for some of the festivities (sort of), consider the Jazz Wine Train. Like the other wine trains that we have throughout the year, the Jazz Wine Trains depart from the depot at 705 S. Main Street and return to the same location about 2 1/2 hours later. The ticket price of $55 includes tastings of 5 wines, delicious-sounding food from Main Street Bread Baking Co. (see the expected menu on the website linked above), and of course some good jazz. This is sure to be fun.
Finally, if you want to support the local art scene, consider dropping by the New Vintage Art show on April 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 300 S. Main Street. Admission is free.
