The folks behind DFW Connector are holding a public appreciation day/open house in order to give residents the opportunity to find out more about the project, answer any questions, and show their appreciation for the community support they have gotten. I will say that although it’s been less than easy, as any construction project will be, I’m generally impressed by the lack of disruption that DFW Connector has caused on our going about our daily lives. I drive through that area daily and have not found it to be particularly painful. Of course, you have to be smart about when you hit the road, and smart about staying informed of significant street closures. To that end, the email alerts you can sign up for are very helpful in knowing when to choose alternate routes.
The event will be held on Tuesday, April 5 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Grapevine Convention Center, 1209 S. Main Street.
They will have updates on safety, environmental concerns, project scheduling, traffic rerouting, and many of the “how-tos” of the project itself. Should be very interesting and informative!
