Tequila and wine on Wednesday

Or something like that.  There are some fun events happening tonight in or near Grapevine and the weather should be fantastic so this would be a great time to get out of the house and out on the town.   These events happen at two of our favorite places so the big question is how to choose which one to enjoy?

First, what’s come to be referred to by some friends of mine as “Wino Wednesday.”  Cork It! has its weekly wine tasting event tonight.  The theme is pinot noir and here is the menu:

Cono Sur 20 Barrel; Chile

Gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms

Forefront; Oregon

Pineapple, jicama & clementine salad

Laforet; Fance

Hummus crostinis w/ papya & black bean salsa

Foley; California

Dark chocolate fudge w/ walnut & cranberry

They have seatings at 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15.  Reservations are recommended; call them at 817-421-9463. Cost is $15.  The food included is a little light for dinner so you will probably want to stick around and order some additional, more substantial food afterwards.  Or walk down the street to enjoy another of Grapevine’s great downtown restaurants.

Next, Blue Mesa has a “Taco and Tequila Street Party.”  For $25 you get dinner and two margaritas.  In my opinion Blue Mesa has some of the best margaritas around.   They have several locations in DFW and the closest one is in Southlake.  Again, reservations are a good idea and you can call them at 817-416-0055.  The event goes from 5-9 p.m. and I assume it is a come and go sort of affair.  The food and drinks will include:

Street Taco Station
Chile glazed steak, orange sriracha chicken, rojo shrimp and pulled pork tacos. Black beans, ginger rice, corn cake. Includes citrus guacamole, arugula grapefruit salad, and two new fresh baked desserts.

Citrus Margarita Station
Meyer Lemon Mint and Ruby Red Grapefruit-Habanero Margaritas

MMMmmmmm is all I can say.
