Patriotic Pooch Parade

Among the many great events around Grapevine for the July 4 holiday weekend includes the Patriotic Pooch Parade.  We were out and about last night on Main Street and there was plenty to see in the way of dogs of all breeds and sizes, dressed up in red, white and blue.

My personal favorite, the cute Yorkie:

Another with a stylin’ top hat:

In addition to the parade of dogs, there was food and drink for the crowd, face painting for kids, and some representatives from the Grapevine fire department in attendance:

This was a fun and festive event and I’ve already spread the word to some dog owner friends to make sure and put this on the calendar for next year.  The after-parade festivities took place around the gazebo so there was a fair amount of shade to help balance out the super-duper heat we’ve been having.

The rest of the weekend looks to be more of the same so I’ll be scouting out the places with awnings, misters, and plenty of cool drinks.  Have a great rest of the holiday – we’ll be posting more about events around town before the weekend is out.  🙂
