What to do in Grapevine this weekend

As usual, there are a lot of fun things going on around Grapevine this coming weekend – and bonus, many of them are indoors where we can escape the heat!

ET at Palace Arts CenterWhat child of the 80’s doesn’t love that adorable alien and the kid whose heart he stole?  I don’t think I will get tired of this movie ever.  We went to see it when it was re-released on its 20th anniversary (which has been a few years ago).  Now, the PAC gives us another walk down memory lane.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad – This isn’t unique to this weekend, but definitely worth considering.  Take a trip to the stockyards, have a late lunch in Ft. Worth and then come back home.

Live music – As usual, there is plenty going on with live music around town.   My picks:

  • Tolbert’s – On Friday it’s the Beatles’ tribute band A Hard Day’s Night, and on Saturday it’s the Eagles tribute band Fastlane.  Music starts at 9 p.m. and $5 cover begins at 8.  Would not be a bad idea to have dinner there before.
  • Rockfish (Southlake) – This is not Grapevine, but close enough, and I highly recommend the night’s act, Robert Gotcher.
  • Tap-In – On Friday, Back to Blue (Rock/Blues), and on Saturday, Featherhead (Rock/Alt Rock)

SummerBlast fireworks over Lake Grapevine – Watch from any number of lakeside locations.   My favorite – Glass Cactus at the Gaylord.

Summer Nights in historic downtown – Head to Main Street for food and fun.

What else is going on?  What do you have planned?
