Just another Tuesday at Farina’s

We headed up to Farina’s last night to pick up the gift certificate for our August giveaway.  And, of course, to enjoy a great dinner.  It had been a long week already so we were glad to relax and kick back for a while.  It was a pretty lively crowd for a Tuesday, but there was no wait for a table.

I started with a glass of wine – Riesling to be exact.  I had enjoyed the same wine there before.  It was nice for a summer evening – light and not too dry.   I never get tired of Riesling.  Jason tried it and although he is not a white wine drinker, he too thought it was not bad at all.

We ordered pizza (me) and pasta (Jason) which I’ll show pics of below.  My pizza had artichokes, kalamata olives and mushrooms- Mediterranean style!   We got there about 7 so unfortunately I missed out on happy hour which ends at 6:30 and during which pizzas are half price.  Ah well, next time!  Jason’s pasta with pesto sauce was really tasty although pretty heavy for an August dinner.  He had plenty left over for the next day’s lunch.  Actually, so did I on the pizza…at most places I find that half an entree is more than enough.    I may or may not have indulged in the garlic bread.  😀

I was tempted by the Kahlua cake which as mentioned in other posts is out of this world.  But I resisted.  You really need 4-6 people to share that cake.

Service was a little slow last night; maybe they had some new people on staff.  We weren’t in a hurry or anything so it didn’t really matter.

We need to return soon with a bigger group.  After all, Farina’s is “Where Friends Meet.”

I sense a Trackie outing in the works. 😀 Farina’s has a great, big square table that would be awesome for a group. Every time we go there, I think how much I like that table.
