Lately we have been doing some remodeling on our home. We started with our master bathroom but then had to move downstairs due to a water heater bursting and causing most of our downstairs to flood. Our insurance company was actually pretty good about handling our claim and the coverage of repair costs, so we proceeded with adding a few extra remodeling updates to the downstairs part of our home while replacing the damaged flooring, sheetrock, paint, etc. That is an ongoing project that still isn’t finished, so I will post more about that later.
We’ve used Repair Experts in the past a number of times for all kinds of repair work around our home. We’ve always been pleased with the results of their work, so of course we wanted to use their services again for this bathroom remodel.
We had this very “1985-looking” wallpaper on the bathroom walls of the master bathroom. It was in the house when we moved in, and we’ve always wanted to remove it. Repair Experts did a terrific job of removing the torn edges and damaged pieces of the wallpaper, and then using a special type of primer to cover up the rest before texturing the walls. After first I thought it was strange that they didn’t pull it all off the walls, but they told me that they had used this method for a number of years in a number of home remodels and it works well. Afterwards, I was, and still am, very pleased with the turn out of the bathroom walls.
The photo on the right shows the wallpaper, part of the garden tub, and the bathroom side of our see-through fireplace that connects to the bedroom. We also had the floor re-tiled, so hardyback board was put down on the wood floor first, prior to tiling.

The finished product is shown in these 2 photos. All of the tile in the shower and floors is new, the glass and trim around the shower is also new. We kept our original garden tub, which matches the fireplace hearth and the sink counter-tops. I will be replacing the old faucets in each sink to match the new brushed-nickel theme in the bathroom. Also (not shown in this photo) I have hung new vanity lights over each sink which keep in style with the brushed-nickel theme. Repair Experts did a fantastic job with texturing, tiling, painting and trim work on this project. We have already had them start on our kitchen overhaul, which I will post about at a later date.
