Red Dog Right is actually in Southlake at 3311 E. Highway 114, in the space formerly occupied by Red Lobster, but is very convenient to Grapevine residents. We had purchased a Groupon recently and so took the opportunity to visit and check out another of the sports bars in the area. Many tables were full when we got there and so we decided to sit in the bar instead. They have plenty of TVs around and it seems an excellent place to take a group to watch a game. They also bring popcorn while waiting for your meal which is a fun touch. The service was excellent, better than many restaurants around.
We decided to pass on the appetizers since we had popcorn to munch on, but they had some very tasty-looking and sports-appropriate ones like pizza rolls, soft pretzels, mini brats, and “7th inning dip” (7 layer dip).
I ordered the “Buffalo Blitz Chop” salad, which comes with buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, bacon, avocado, cheese, and honey mustard dressing. Definitely a good choice, but there seemed to be plenty of good choices. They have plenty of burgers and sandwiches as well as pizza and also “home plates” such as penne with shrimp, pot roast, and grilled chicken breast with avocado and pico de gallo.
Jason is definitely a fan of wings and saw no other option since this was our first visit to Red Dog Right. They have some unusual sauce choices and he tried a few of them, including the Coca Cola Bacon BBQ and orange sesame with jalapenos. I tried one of the Coca Cola ones since I’m usually a fan of non-traditional wing sauces and they were very tasty.
They also have desserts, of course (warm brownie sundae – YUM) but I didn’t quite have room, so we’ll save that for next time. I’m sure there will be a next time; they had some great choices and plenty of variety of food, and the service was really terrific.
